Maulana RumiMaulana Jalaluddin Rumi (1207 – 17 December 1273), is known by many people only by the name of Rumi or Maulana Rumi. He was a thirteenth-century Persian language poet, lawman, Islamic scholar, religious teacher, and Sufi mystic. Most of his compositions are in Persian language, but in some places he also uses Turkish, Arabic and Greek words. His poetic works are Diwan-e-Shams Tabrezi or Diwan-e-Kabir and Masnavi Manvi. His prose works include Fih Ma Fih, Majalis-e-Sabah and Makatib.
